12.13.2015Disastrous Earthquake in Bartang Valley on December 7th, 2015
As the result of the massive earthquake (7.2 magnitude) with its epicentre near Sarez Lake in Bartang valley in GBAO of Tajikistan more than 800 families left without houses and are currently in a desperate situation. The roads towards Bartang valley is also destroyed, which means the situation will remain critical for the unforseen future. Helicopters cannot deliver help due to the weather conditions. We need to help the local charities to provide the families in need with warm clothes, blankets, tents, food and transportation to a temporary shelter.

Finally, the firs tour to the lake Sarez has completed successfully. Sarez has been forbidden to visit for foreigners since 1999. Fortunately, now foreigners also again can visit the lake.
